David Johnstone is a seasoned CEO, Chair and investor with over 40 years of experience driving growth and transformation across listed and private companies. He specialises in turnarounds, M&A, and international expansion, particularly in technology, financial services, and renewables.

As founder of Cadre Partners and CEO of Energizer Solar, he mentors leaders and scales brand-powered solar solutions globally. Formerly Chair of Envirosuite (ASX:EVS). where David strategically positioned the company globally which eventuated in the proposed takeover, and as CEO of Professional Investment Services he led the financial turnaround and sale to CAF Group (now ASX:CAF). David has led major transformations, strategic exits, and capital events. He brings a pragmatic, results-focused approach to building enterprise value and aligning strategy with execution. David is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

Mr Matthew Smith

Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Effective from 1st January 2025, Matthew was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Marathon Consolidated.

Matthew has over 15 years of experience in financial services, investment markets, accounting, taxation, and audit, having spent the earlier part of his career with national stockbroking companies and in the operation of private investment entities. Matthew has a Bachelor of Commerce with both Accounting and Finance majors, has lectured in finance and investment subjects at James Cook University and is a member of the Australia Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Matthew is available on a full-time bases as Managing Director to manage the affairs of the Company.

Mr Christopher Rockemer

Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer

Effective from 1st January 2025, Christopher was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Marathon Consolidated. Christopher has over 25 years experience as a practising Registered BAS Agent, assisting in the operations and risk management of small-to-medium enterprises.

Christopher has a Bachelor of Economics with Honours, as well as a Bachelor of Business. His Honours thesis was on Behavioural Economics, specifically studying Social Norms and their effects on consumer behaviours. Christopher is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Christopher is the Immediate Past President of the Townsville Chamber of Commerce, having volunteered on the committee since 2009 including as President, Deputy President, Treasurer and Chair of the Young Chamber. Christopher is available on a full-time basis as an Executive Director to manage the affairs of the Company.
